The Technical Stage Manager will lead and be responsible for the day to day running of all technical elements of the production. The Technical Stage Manager will collaborate with the rest of the team to ensure all technical and production elements of the project are upheld to the highest standards. The Technical Stage Manager will work alongside the Event Manager and will be supported remotely by the Production Manager.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Technical Stage Manager to lead in implementation and touring of all technical aspects of a ambitious touring show designed for children.
We are looking for a dedicated individual with experience working across all technical areas who is adept at problem solving

Job Description

– Responsible for day to day smooth and safe running of all technical and scenic elements
– Work with the Event Manager to ensure all health and safety policies are implemented to the highest possible standard
– Assisting the Event Manager in supporting the performers throughout both the rehearsal and live periods, making them aware of all facilities and procedures including awareness of the Health and Safety policy
– Play an active part in development, promotion and implementation of company policies: access, sustainability, health and safety and equality and diversity
– Perform ongoing maintenance as required, swapping units when appropriate and completing preventative maintenance
– Deputise for the Event Manager on occasion
– Monitor the structure and complete daily and monthly checks in collaboration with the Event Manager
– Work with the Event Manager to ensure smooth running of the show on tour
– Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned


Person Specification

– Experience or qualification in stage management
– Previous experience in touring/immersive productions
– Experience delivering and maintaining a wide range of technical equipment
– Good practical knowledge of production and technical techniques including stage, construction, rigging, lighting, sound and projection
– Working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, safeguarding legislation and procedures as applicable to the entertainment industry
– Efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Ability to work effectively under pressure
– Able to use own initiative and problem solve under pressure
– IT and Microsoft Office skills
– Understanding of Temporary power
– Experience with EOS lighting consoles and Qlab


Person Specification

– Degree level education in theatre production of other relevant training
– Previous experience working on a children’s production
– First Aid certificate
– Full clean driving license
– Some understand of networking and internet communications

Line Management

The Technical Stage Manager will report to the General Manager.
